More Details: In 1861 the first capital of the Colorado Territory was Old Colorado City. Today it is home to restaurants, galleries, boutiques, jewelry stores, collectibles, specialty shops, lodging and professional offices and services. This property was former home to the Colorado City Post Office, doctor’s offices and apothecary store. More recently it was the “West Side Rec. Center” and Bambino’s Pizzeria. The interior and mechanical have been substantially remodeled since 2000. Features include an adjacent “Horse Alley” along the the westerly property line. The women made the historic town fathers prohibit horses on the boardwalk, hence building owners had to leave “deeded” 10-foot wide horse alleys. Today this alley is open to access public parking lots in the rear of the property.
